Campaign Vision for Downtown Oroville :    Safe • Thriving • Beautiful

Families, children, residents, and visitors should all be able to enjoy our streets with confidence.  For our businesses to flourish and for our historic downtown to reach its full potential, we must attract more visitors to experience one of California's most charming and remarkably intact historic districts.

In today's world, we aren't just competing with neighboring communities—we're competing with online shopping. We need to give people a reason to put down their phones and enjoy the experience of shopping, dining and enjoying the ambiance of our small town. That experience comes from beautiful historic buildings, inviting streets, unique locally owned businesses, great restaurants, friendly faces, and genuine personal connections that simply can't be found online.

A thriving downtown begins with people feeling safe, comfortable, and welcome.

Our business owners work hard every day to create welcoming places for customers. The City must do its part by ensuring our downtown is clean, well-maintained, and above all, safe. It should be a place where parents feel comfortable letting their children run into the ice cream shop while they browse nearby stores.

I believe we can achieve that.

As your City Council representative, I will support increasing visible police patrols by identifying savings in other areas of the city budget and prioritizing public safety. Every department should be evaluated to ensure taxpayer dollars are being spent where they make the greatest difference. Public safety is the foundation of a healthy, thriving community.

I support connecting people living on our streets with available shelter, services, and treatment whenever possible. When individuals refuse assistance and violate our laws, including our no-camping ordinance, those laws should be consistently enforced. Living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions should not be accepted as the status quo for the individuals experiencing homelessness or for our community.

My vision is for Oroville to become known as the safest and most welcoming city in the North State. A safe city is a thriving city—one where businesses invest, families feel at home, children can enjoy downtown with confidence, and visitors return again and again. Together, we can create a downtown that is vibrant, welcoming, and full of life.
